As ua Natus Vincere G2A would be looking forward to attend Dreamhack Tours 2017, we will take a look at our previous results in tournaments organised by Dreamhack for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Dreamhack has been organising events ever since the early ‘90s. They have held numerous events in Sweden for multiple games, deciding to switch from CS 1.6 back to CS:GO in 2012 and just a couple of years later, they had announced CS:GO to be one of their main attractions from 2015. Following that, Dreamhack started a series of events known as Dreamhack Open, which would have multiple tournaments being held in different locations. We will now look at all the CS:GO events that our team had taken part in, starting from Dreamhack Bucharest 2013.

Dreamhack Bucharest 2013

Dreamhack Bucharest 2013 was the 6th CS:GO event for Dreamhack, but it was the first event that we had attended. We were facing a couple of local teams alongside the well-known teams like se Ninjas in Pyjamas, fr VeryGames and ua Astana Dragons in the tournament. For the group stages we were matched against Astana Dragons and two Romanian teams, From Another World and Beantown Bandits.

We managed to win our opening match against Beantown Bandits 16-5, but then we dropped a match to Astana Dragons, losing 10-16 - which meant that we would have to play the decider match to make it out of the group stages. We managed to secure the victory against From Another World 16-13 to make our way into the playoffs. In the Quarter-finals we had to face dk Copenhagen Wolves in a Best-of-Three which we won 2-0 to head, going towards the Semi-finals where we faced se Lemondogs; unfortunately, we lost the match 1-2 after a close series. This marked the end of our first Dreamhack event, and we left with $1,500 as we secured the 3rd-4th position.

Dreamhack Winter 2013

The next event that we attended by Dreamhack was Dreamhack Winter 2013 held in Jönköping, Sweden. It was the last Dreamhack event for 2013, but still one of the largest events nonetheless, as it was first ever Valve-sponsored major featuring a $250,000 prize pool. We got a free pass to the event, as we attended TECHLABS Cup 2013 Finals and managed to finish 3rd, but we secured a higher position than 3DMax who were the only team besides us that were not in the event. This meant that we would get the spot as the top two were already invited.

The tournament had multiple top teams playing and each team were giving their very best due to the tournament being one of the biggest events at that time. In the group stages we had teams like se Fnatic, se LGB eSports and fr Clan Mystik with us. We lost the opening match against Fnatic 9-16, who went on to eventually win the first ever CS:GO major. We were knocked out of the event after a close match against LGB eSports as we lost 13-16, marking the end of our run at the first ever major, securing $2,000 in the process.

Dreamhack Summer 2014

Afterwards we attended Dreamhack Summer 2014 which also took place in Jönköping, Sweden. We were one of the ten teams to be invited to the event. The event had a couple of surprises as the major champions, Fnatic, were knocked out in the group stages, but we qualified to the playoffs after defeating se FlipSid3 Tactics and no Expert Gaming.

In the playoffs, we had a great run as we won the Quarter-Finals against pl Virtus.Pro 2-0, claiming both maps with a 16-9 score. Afterwards in the Semi-Finals we faced off against fr Epsilon eSports and managed to defeat them 2-0 just as well to make our first ever Grand Final appearance in a CS:GO Dreamhack event. In the Grand Finals we were facing off against Ninjas in Pyjamas in an exciting best-of-three but the home team took the trophy after overtime.

Dreamhack Winter 2014

As 2014 was coming to an end, we headed back to Jönköping, Sweden to attend Dreamhack Winter 2014. The second major to be hosted by Dreamhack, we were one of the legends team in the event, since we were in the top 8 of the previous major, ESL One Cologne 2014. For the group stages, we were in Group D alongside pl Virtus.Pro, se FlipSid3 Tactics and sk myXMG. We won our opening match against FlipSid3 Tactics but lost to Virtus.Pro afterwards. In the deciding match we had to face FlipSid3 Tactics again; this time the match was pretty close as it went to overtime but we were able to secure our spot in the top 8 of the event.

In the playoffs we were against dk Team Dignitas, who secured first place after an upset victory over iBuyPower. They could not pull off another upset, though, as we won the match with a 2-0 score to advance to the Semi-Finals. In the Semi-Finals we had to face fr Team LDLC: the Semi-Finals were an exciting match but in the end we lost 2-0, losing both maps 11-16. We secured the 3rd-4th position, which meant that we had secured an invite to the next major.

Dreamhack Open Summer 2015

Next up was Dreamhack Open Summer 2015, the second event of the Dreamhack Open series. We were invited to the event alongside Fnatic, Titan and Ninjas in Pyjamas. In the group stage, we managed to defeat eu Team Kinguin and se Ninjas in Pyjamas to make our way to the Semi-Finals.

In the Semi-Finals, we faced off against fr Titan and after a close match, we came out as winners as we won the series 2-1 to advance to the Grand-Finals, where we faced se Fnatic for the title. Unfortunately, we lost, and secured the 2nd position in the event.

Dreamhack Open Cluj Napoca 2015

The next stop for us was Dreamhack Open Cluj Napoca 2015, which was another Valve-sponsored major by Dreamhack. In the group stages we won against us Counter Logic Gaming but dropped the winners match to fr Team EnVyUs, forcing us to play against CLG again in the decider match but, this time, in a best-of-three series we were able to win and qualify to the playoffs.
During the playoffs, we faced BrazilLuminosity Gaming in the Quarter-Finals which we won with a score of 2-0 after a close and exciting match. Next up we had to face SwedenNinjas in Pyjamas in the Semi-Finals, we breezed past them to head towards the Grand-Finals. This marked the first ever Grand-Final appearance at a Valve major for the team. Unfortunately, we lost the match to FranceTeam EnVyUs as they secured their second major championship while we ended up as runner-ups at yet another Dreamhack event, leaving with a $50,000 prize.

Dreamhack Leipzig 2016

Dreamhack Leipzig 2016 was the next event that we attended, and we were coming into the event in a great shape. We managed to win both of our matches in the group stages, defeating DenmarkSK Gaming and InternationalFaZe Clan to proceed towards the Semi-Finals. In the Semi-Finals, we faced DenmarkTeam Dignitas whom we won against 2-0. This allowed us to make a consecutive grand-final appearance at a Dreamhack event.

In the Grand-Finals we faced br Luminosity Gaming, the finals was pretty close and exciting as the trophy could have been won by either team but, as the smoke had cleared after the fight we emerged victorious, winning 2-0 with both of the maps going to overtime. This was our first ever tournament that we won which was organised by Dreamhack.

Dreamhack Masters Malmö 2016

A few months after we won our first Dreamhack event, we went to Malmö, Sweden to attend the Dreamhack Masters Malmö 2016, which was a new series of events organised by Dreamhack. The event featured a prize pool of $250,000 and some of the best teams competing for it. We managed to win the group stage following victories against se Godsent and us Counter Logic Gaming to make our way into the Quarter-Finals.

In the playoffs our first match was against ChinaTyloo, who were coming after a major upset against the then current major champions, br Luminosity Gaming. Despite winning against the major champions, they could not win against us, as we secured a 2-0 win to advance into the Semi-Finals. In the Semi-Finals we faced fr Team EnVyUs, which was another easy 2-0 victory for us. This allowed us to make another Grand-Final appearance at a Dreamhack event.

The Grand-finals was against SwedenNinjas in Pyjamas, who had the whole crowd with them. The match was really exciting as there were rounds being traded back and forth, but in the end the home team took the trophy after both the maps going a long way, having 30 rounds played in both of them.

Dreamhack Masters Las Vegas 2017

The last but not the least event that we attended would be Dreamhack Masters Las Vegas 2017. This was the second Dreamhack Masters event, this one featuring a $450,000 prize pool, having 16 of the best teams; 8 of them being invited and the other 8 coming through qualifiers. We were one of the invited teams; in the group stages we were against eu Mousesports, eu FaZe Clan and AustraliaRenegades.

Our first match was against mousesports, which we unfortunately lost 12-16. Afterwards we played the elimination match against Renegades that we won 16-6. In the decider match we played a Best-of-Three against FaZe Clan: we won the series 2-1 after a close match to qualify for the playoffs. In the Quarter-Finals, we played against br SK Gaming, which was an exciting match as the first map went to multiple overtimes but sadly, we lost the map and the series to be eliminated from the tournament.

This has been all our events that we attended which were organised by Dreamhack. We hope that all of you fans would be cheering for the team at Tours, France as the team would be attending Dreamhack Tours 2017.
