The International 2018: Coverage

The International 2018, the main Dota 2 tournament of the year, will take place on August 15–25.

A total of 18 best teams from all around the globe will lock horns over their share of the whopping prize pool of over $ 24,000,000, which is now moving close to beating the last year's record.

The group stage will take from August 15th to 18th to complete, with all participating teams split into two groups of nine. Four top teams will advance to the upper bracket of the main event, 5th-8th placed teams will fall into the lower bracket and the two bottom teams of each group will get eliminated.

The main event will be happening on August 20-25 and see the champions of The International 2018 crowned. We are in for some exciting and action-packed weeks! We'll soon know if eu Team Liquid will be able to defend their title or a different team will be declared the 2018 world champions.

GROUP STAGE:

— best of 2 matches;
— top 4 teams of each group advance to the upper bracket of the main event;
— the bottom two teams of each group get eliminated;
— the remaining teams fall into the lower bracket

PLAYOFFS:

— 8 teams begin in the upper bracket, 8 teams in the lower bracket;
— opening lower bracket games are best of 1, others are best of 3;
— best of 5 grand final.
