After having its previous iterations held in Oakland, the event series is heading to Chicago. The IEM Chicago 2018 event will take place on November 6–11 at Wintrust Arena, bringing together 16 teams (10 invited and 5 qualified). They will be battling it out for the prize pool of $ 250,000.

IEM Chicago 2018 is part of Intel Grand Slam. The teams are fighting for the $ 1,000,000 prize which is set to be awarded to the team winning four ESL and DreamHack Masters events. The favorites in this race have so far been FaZe Clan and Astralis.
