The main details

Another destination awaits NAVI.GG.BET Dota 2 roster, and this time, it is sunny Jakarta. GESC: Indonesia Dota 2 Minor, which is a part of Dota Pro Circuit, is scheduled to take place there. In this preview, we are going to focus on the details of the event - the venue, the opponents, the format, the expectations, and more!

The path to LAN finals

The direct invite to the event was only granted to a single team, namely Evil Geniuses, so all the others had to fight their way through the qualifiers. NAVI was one of four teams allowed to take part in the regional qualifiers. Aside from us,   Vega Squadron,  Gambit Esports and  Team Spirit were also competing for the right to make it to the LAN finals - rather formidable opponents.

Also, "yellow-black" were fighting without their captain - Akbar "SoNNeikO" Butayev was replaced by Nikola "LeBron" Popovic, who eventually became a full-fledged member of the team. Even back then LeBron was a true delight for all the fans, fully living up to the expectations!

The qualifiers featured double elimination bracket, yet we did not drop a single series regardless. Our squad has confidently played against the "sharks", subsequently facing off the "dragons" twice. Despite the good training of the opponents, NAVI overpowered the opponents, taking the only place available for GESC.

NAVI.GG.BET before the event

After a successful qualification, Natus Vincere went to Genting for a LAN tournament. Following that, some changes happened with our roster - Ilya "Lil" Ilyuk and Nikola "LeBron" Popovic have joined the ranks of NAVI. The renewed team not only managed to test themselves in the regional qualifiers but also took part in a couple of Majors - ESL One Katowice 2018 and The Bucharest Major.

The players were working against, as they had very little to properly prepare for the upcoming events. The matches of NAVI in Katowice were not really successful, but exposed the weak points and helped create a roadmap for the future work. When it came to Bucharest, the team demonstrated the training bears the fruits. For example, the analysts were noting NAVI was making a decent progress, especially talking about the drafts - "yellow-black" worked a fair bit on picking heroes.

After Romania, the squad used a brief break between the tournaments, using it fully to prepare for the upcoming events. The first one is going to be GESC, and soon we will be able to see whether the training was productive for our team to eliminate the issues before coming to Jakarta.

GESC: Indonesia details

The LAN finals are going to take place in Jakarta from March 15th to 18th. The fans of the game will gather at "Indonesia Convention Exhibition" - a venue for numerous exhibitions and events. Eight teams from 6 regions will come together to fight for $300,000 and 300 DPC points - a reward worth contesting.

The format of the event is a bit different compared to other, it is quite special. First, the teams will be distributed into groups with double elimination system. The results are going to reflect where the teams will end up - 2 strongest teams will start in the semifinals, the next two  - at the quarterfinals, while the remaining 4 teams will begin in the first round.

The Rivals

First, let's take a look at the initial opponents of Natus Vincere. The other three teams in the group are  Evil Geniuses,  Infamous and  Rex Regum Qeon. No doubt, the "evil geniuses" are the most dangerous competitors out there. This team is very consistent in their results, and is aiming to get the first place at GESC. EG needs the DPC points, so we can expect them to try their hardest to win.

 Infamous and  Rex Regum Qeon are not quite on the level of the high-tier competitive scene. Surely, the South American team regularly attends various international events, yet they have not achieved any impressive results as of now. For  Rex Regum Qeon, the champions of Indonesian qualifiers, this LAN is going to become the first tournament of the season.

Group B is going to feature   VGJ.Thunder,  The Final Tribe,  Fnatic and  Digital Chaos. All those teams have a very good shot at becoming semifinalists.  VGJ.Thunder have already shown what they can do at The Bucharest Major, taking the second place there.  Fnatic demonstrated some impressive results in Katowice.   The Final Tribe и  Digital Chaos, where  Aui_2000 is currently playing, are surely going to match the two aforementioned teams.
