ESL One Cologne 2018: victory over fnatic

A heated series, and deserved victory!

NAVI.GG.BET started their journey in the playoffs against the team fnatic. The heated Bo3 ended with a victory for  Natus Vincere 2:0!

Game 1 - Natus Vincere [1:0] fnatic

The first map was de_overpass. The first pistols round saw flamie left alone against the majority of the opposing team; he made a good attempt but was still overwhelmed. The next round saw the same flamie left in a 1v1, which he brought home.

Swedes lost the force buy and had to eco; this propelled NAVI to 1:5. A bit later, we scored 8 points, claiming at least the first half. The opponent had nothing to offer us for a while, until we hit the double digits. Towards the end of the half, fnatic managed to take a couple, but we still closed it 12:3.

The second pistols went to fnatic yet again, and the force buy went to NAVI, just like during the previous half. We've gained 10 rounds advantage, and it looked like the opponents had very little to work with. Round 19 saw us retake the bombsite without any casualties - 15:4.

fnatic denied 3 in a row, and our economy was not looking too good. 5 in a row forced us to use a tactical. The pause did not do much for us, as NAVI kept dropping points, and fnatic came dangerously close. We finally managed to pull our forces together and close out the map 16:12.

Game 2 - Natus Vincere [2:0] fnatic

The first half of de_train started with a 3:0 our way. The gun round saw electronic and krimz step up for their respective teams, but our lead remained uncontested. Only on the 6th round, fnatic took the first round after a 1v1. From then onwards, the Terrorists went on a good streak, almost tying the game.

NAVI had a different plan, though, as we managed to take it to 6:4. We tried our best to avoid the reset, and made a break for it, taking 8:4 and the half victory at least, ultimately closing it 11:4.

The second half's pistol round was claimed by fnatic, while NAVI followed that up with 2 in a row. 4 rounds went to the opponent straight away, as our economy seen better days. Finally, we managed to overcome the bad economy and took a couple of rounds, with very impressive clutches by both flamie and Zeus. The score hit 15:10, and the last round saw a 4v1 - we take the game 16:10 making it to the semis!
