Quake Pro League Stage 1: cYpheR in top-4

cYpheR ended the run in the semifinals

Alexei "cYpheR" Yanushevsky finished the run at Quake Pro League Stage 1 LAN finals. NAVI.GG.BET Apex Legends coach showed a good level of play but didn't manage to make it into the finals.

The game day for the Born to Win began with a match against another representative of the CIS — Dmitry“Xron” Saharuk. The first map started off quite hard for cYpheR. Nonetheless, Alexei managed to gather his strength and demonstrate solid shooting skills, which allowed his to break ahead in Blood Covenant — 6 : 2.

On Ruins of Sarnath cYpheR secured his advantage by defeating the enemy without any problems - 11 : 4. The final win allowed Alexei to advance to the next round of the bracket, where he was to face one of the strongest players — Shane "Liquid.rapha" Hendrikson.

CYPHER [3: 1] RAPHA

The starting map, Blood Covenant, turned out to be extremely nerve-racking and tense: anyone could snatch the win, since the opponents played very carefully and scored a minimum of kills. The confrontation even reached overtime, and cYpheR became the winner.

The next card, Corrupted Keep, turned out to be much more interesting and energetic. Opponents showed excellent shooting, making successive frags. Still,  cYpheR was the one to hit that extra kill — 8 : 7. A good start — 2 maps that ended with a win in a bo5.

The third map, The Molten Falls, turned out to be unsuccessful for Alexei. Team Liquid's player went fully aggressive from the start, which led to a few frags his way. After that, our player tried to come back into the game, but couldn’t catch up , and in the end he was defeated with a score of 5 : 15.

It seemed, though, the result of that map enraged cYpheR, as he had a good run on Awoken. Despite all the efforts by rapha, Alexei finished the series with a win — 12 : 7. As a result, the victory in the series with a score of 3 : 1, which allowed him to reach the semi-finals of the tournament!

CYPHER [0: 3] RAISY

In the semifinals cYpheR  faced Adrian "RAISY" Birghani, who hit top-4 during the pilot stage of  Quake Pro League Season 1. The game against such an opponent promised to be tough.

Blood Covenant was unsuccessful for Alexei: the early advantage of the opponent, thanks to his good aim, was too much. 5 : 11 - the first card won by RAISY.

Unfortunately, Corrupted Keep was claimed by the opponent as well. The Hungarian esportsman showed a confident game, with no intent to stop after defeating DaHang in the quarterfinals. 3 : 12 secured a comfortable 2-map lead for the opponent.

The Molten Falls was the last map of the tournament for cYpheR. Both players showed a very good fight, but the opponent got 2 kills more - 5: 7.

Despite the final score, we can say Alexei showed a great level of play, making it to the tournament via Challenger league. 3-4th place — a good result!

The Quake Pro League doesn't end for cYpheR yet: Alexei will begin the next phase in the top division, where he will compete with the best players of the discipline for a place in the LAN-finals of the championship. The start date of the second stage of the League is still unknown.
