All changes for the new season

Ubisoft has announced details of the 2021 professional season in Rainbow Six Siege. In addition, developers shared information about the postponed Six Invitational 2021.

So the World Championship will still take place, but only in May 2021. It will replace the Major tournament which was supposed to take place at the same time. As for the list of participants, it will remain unchanged with a maximum prize fund of $ 3,000,000. The exact date and venue of the tournament will be revealed at a later date.

The transfer window has been moved from February 22nd to March 7th. Note that a player who participated in the Six Invitational 2021 but later joined a non—competitive team will be entitled to a portion of the prize money won by the previous team at the Six Invitational 2021.

Since the Major tournament will not take place in May, the prize pool, as well as qualification points will be distributed among the first stage competitors in the four regions — each of them will receive an additional $ 125,000.

As for the regional leagues, Ubisoft made a few changes to the competition format:

The draw is a thing of the past. From now on, teams will play in best of 3 overtime to determine the winner and loser;

Expanding the rosters. Organizations have been given the option to have two rosters, for regional and national leagues. Each squad can have up to 7 players; the total number of players in the organization can not exceed 12 members. Each team can have a separate coach;

Coaches will be able to use the technical time-outs to discuss strategies. More details about this will be provided by Ubisoft in the near future;

Changes in scoring. While a regular win still gives three points and a loss gives zero points, a win in overtime now gives two points and a loss gives one point;

Tiebreakers. In case the teams are tied on points in the standings, the leader is determined based on the following factors: face-to-face matches, tie score difference, winning percentage of games, percentage of winning rounds. If all these points are tied, a dedicated match is played to determine which team is placed higher in the standings.

The second season of the European League season starts on March 18th and runs for seven weeks. Each team will only play one match per week. The final week of the European League will include three match days. All the other details of the regional leagues can be found .
