As you know,  Natus Vincere will be represented by ex-  "Grubiye" in the extremely popular battle royale game PUBG. Perhaps, this tag is known to everyone who was somehow following the competitive scene of PUBG, because it was Grubiye who managed to become leaders not only in the CIS, but also in the world arena.

Even the beta version of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds quickly won the love of users around the world, but the question of whether the game developers will give due attention to its competitive component remained open. The first steps towards esports were implemented quite quickly: at the Gamescom in the summer of 2017, the invitational championship took place, with a prize fund of $ 350,000.

The popularity of online leagues and competitions of all kinds began to grow. However, while the game was still in beta, Bluehole banned the tournaments with a prize pool exceeding $ 1,000 until the testing ends, so those who thought about the career of a professional player were especially eagerly awaiting the release of the full version of the game.

Fortunately, the increased interest of the public to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds did not go unnoticed - authoritative organizers of LAN tournaments in such disciplines as Dota 2, CS:GO and others, gradually introduced themselves into PUBG. IEM Oakland PUBG Invitational ($ 200,000) became a kind of starting point for professional PUBG, and major ESL and StarLadder championships were scheduled for early 2018. These challenges demanded proper preparation.

The backbone of the active roster of Natus Vincere gathered as one team on January 7, 2018: Ubah, POKAMOLODOY, Shade1 and SnoopykX, who is now playing for Team Empire, made their debut in the open qualifiers for Intel Extreme Masters Season XII and finished in the first-second places of the final table. Alas, at the closed qualifiers the guys did not achieve the desired result, and therefore missed the final stage of the tournament.

The finest hour of "Grubiye" came 2 months later: the team showed itself in all its glory at PGL PUBG Spring Invitational 2018 at the end of March. Romanian championship qualifier was taken over by the squad, but Snoopykx moved to Empire and our heroes turned to Alexei "0nuqtive" Trufanov for help. As it turned out, the replacement in the team did not hit the morale and training of the players at all.

Grubiye showed the best results among the sixteen contestants over the course of 2 days. As a result, only the American-Danish quartet Ghost Gaming managed to bypass them. FaZe Clan, Team Kinguin, despite the experts predicting their success, bit the dust. Grubiye became silver medalists and received their first major award - $ 20,000. In addition, after six weeks they fought with European teams for the right to perform in the LAN finals of GLL, achieving their goal as well.

At the same time, another hero was writing his own story - Drainys. Truth be told, he started his journey separately from his current teammates. Svyatoslav began his professional career as part of another promising team from the CIS - AVANGAR. Together with MuMiNo, keeN and 0nuqtive, the player hit quite a few milestones.

Like Grubiye, AVANGAR stormed the European qualifications of Intel Extreme Masters Season XII. Already at that moment the squad made quite a big entrance, having overcome both open and closed qualifiers. The first international LAN was quite a success for the team as well. Battling for $ 50,000 of the prize pool, AVANGAR players became the best - an honorable victory allowed the guys to write their names in the history of the competitive PUBG. As a reward, the team received $ 25,000.

Then the StarLadder i-League Invitational Season 1 came around. A more attractive amount was at stake this time - $ 100,000. AVANGAR's fans looked forward to the performance as bright as the one in Katowice, but the guys were not as confident on Kyiv Cybersport Arena. The team took the sixth place. The online tournament Curse Trials, which followed the LAN-final, wasn't successful for AVANGAR as well.

In search of reliable teammates and new challenges, Drainys joined the Grubiye trio. Now we welcome the guys under NAVI banners. The desire of the players to realize their potential on a professional level is understandable: only the opportunity to compete with the best helps to get real pleasure from the game and encourages to work hard, to improve game skills.

The quartet is focused on preparing for the coming tournaments, the first one being GLL. The championship will be held in Bucharest on April 20-22.
