There are several invites handed out to some of the strongest teams, such as  Virtus.pro,  Team Liquid,  Team Secret,  Newbee,  Vici Gaming,  VGJ.Thunder and  Evil Geniuses. As to the winners of the regional qualifiers, those include the likes of  Mineski,  OG,  PSG.LGD,  TNC Pro Team,  VGJ.Storm,  Infamous,  The Final Tribe and  Team Spirit.

The tournament will feature the largest prize pool of the season (except for The International 2018) - $ 1,500,000, as well as the highest number of qualifying points - 2,250. The venue will be the Yuanshen Sports Centre, located in Shanghai.
