StarSeries S5: victory over AVANGAR

NAVI takes the series!

The decisive battle for the playoffs at StarSeries S5 saw NAVI.GG.BET fight with AVANGAR in a Bo3 series. In the outcome of the match, NAVI make it into the playoffs after a 2:0 series!

Game 1 - Natus Vincere [1:0] AVANGAR

The first game of the series started off quite well for NAVI, as the pistol round and 2 more were taken by us, securing an early 3:0 lead. The gun, round, though, turned the game around, as AVANGAR managed to defuse the bomb, and get ahead to 3:4.

The teams traded rounds, the lead constantly shifting from one team to another. However, until the end of the half, AVANGAR did not manage to get a convincing series of rounds, while NAVI had a couple of streaks going their way, solidifying the position for the attack. The first half ended 8:7 our way.

The second half kicked off with a 3-point streak going the way of AVANGAR, which put NAVI behind. Like in the previous half, we claimed a 4-point series starting with the gun round. The opponents took 1, but the reset immediately followed, as a four-round streak led NAVI to the match point, even if not without difficulties.

AVANGAR weren't ready to give up on the game just yet, gathering all their strength to delay the match point by a round, and the economy of ours wasn't in a great shape for the next one. That allowed the opponent to run away with 1 more until we've gathered enough to take the game 1 16:13!

Game 2 - Natus Vincere [2:0] AVANGAR

The second game started with a confident victory in the pistol round by NAVI, setting us up for 2 more; yet the gun round went the way of the opponents. This marked the beginning of AVANGAR's rise on de_inferno. They managed not only to tie the game but also break ahead with a strong lead.

NAVI found themselves in quite a precarious position, as ultimately, AVANGAR claimed 8 rounds and secured the half. We tried to come back into the game to decrease the gap, and succeeded in doing so  - the first half ended with minimal disadvantage 7:8.

The second half saw AVANGAR make it to the double digits, but after that, it was NAVI's game. 5 in a row, and we've established a lead - 12:10. Unfortunately, that lead did not last long, as the opponents had enough weapons to prevent the streak from continuing - 12:12.

It did not take us long to retaliate, though. With proper guns and utility, we managed to score 3 more points and make it to the match point. The final round of the map saw a very convincing plays coming out of NAVI, and de_inferno, as well as the series, is ours! NAVI.GG.BET make it into the playoffs.
