CS:GO Asia Championships 2018: To the semifinals!

Semifinals secured!

The battle for the semifinals saw NAVI.GG.BET play against NiP in a Bo3 series. The match ended with 2:1 our way, as NAVI claims the place in the semifinals.

de_overpass - Natus Vincere [0:1] NiP

The first game of the series saw NiP take the early advantage right from the pistol round - 0:3. The first buy round, though, changed the situation on the map slightly, as NAVI almost managed to tie the game to 3:3, but stopped just 1 round short. Unfortunately, for the next 8 rounds, NAVI had no luck in getting even a single point on board, as it was NiP's show. The first half ended with a 12:3 score.

The second half started similarly to the first one, with the first 2 round going the way of NiP. Following that, we tried to come back into the game, going on a 3-round spree, making the score 14:6. Unfortunately, this was not enough to really cover the gap, as NiP managed to claim 2 in a row to take de_overpass with a 16:6 score.

de_mirage - Natus Vincere [1:1] NiP

The second game of the series started off well, with the pistol round going our way, as well as the next couple of rounds. NiP managed to get their gun round, but the round 5 did not see them capitalize on that victory, as NAVI took a 2-round streak. The opponents claimed 1 more point with the buy, but another reset from the Terrorists ruined the economy of the Swedes. 

NAVI crossed the 8-round threshold, and we had a very good chance to close off the first half with a favorable score, as the opponent only had 2 points thus far. However, soon NiP managed to get the third point, as electronic was left in a tough position. Finally, the first half concluded with a confident 12:3.

The second half saw the pistols going the way of the NiP. NAVI managed to get the third round on board, but did not capitalize on this, with the attack getting a few more points. We struggled economically, and the score became 13:8. Round 22 saw s1mple left in a 1v1 with GeT_RiGhT and this round was claimed by the Swedes again.

During the 23rd round NAVI managed to take their second point for defense, but unfortunately, that seemed to be it for a while, as neither clutches nor regular rounds were going our way. Still, as the opponents were coming closer, NAVI managed to finally push themselves to that 15th round - the first match point. Even if the first round after that didn't work out for us, but the next one, even if we did not have the best buy, saw us take the map 16:14.

de_train - Natus Vincere [2:1] NiP

The final map of the confrontation saw the defense take the first 2 rounds, while NAVI claimed the third. The game stabilized around 3:3, and NiP found themselves in an eco round. We executed an anti-eco, finally breaking ahead, hitting 5:3 eventually.  NAVI seemed to hit the plays and all the shots, as the gap was becoming larger, and we eventually hit 8:3.

The 1v1 against GeT_RiGhT did not end well for us yet again, but nonetheless, we still had the money. As a cherry on top, the next round reset the economy of the opponent badly. Overall, the first half ended with a spectacular 1v3 by s1mple, as we wrap it up with 11:4.

The second half started off with the first round the way of the opponent, but NAVI returned their dominance with a 3-round streak, making it to 14:5. A few trades coming in from both sides pushed us to the match point at 15:6, but NiP wasn't ready to give it up just yet. Picking up a few rounds, they almost crossed the double digits, but we had different plans, as the series ended with a 2:1
