NAVI.GG.BET takes ESL One Cologne 2018!
Another trophy secured!
That's the end of the first major summer championship - ESL One Cologne, and NAVI.GG.BET becomes its winner!
The thorny path of the "yellow-black" to the grand finals began with the group stage of the competition. The first round was not the best for our guys: leading the match with a score of 9:0, NAVI players could not bring it to victory and lost to
G2 Esports (14:16 - Inferno).
After that, the team did not have the right to make a mistake and every match could be the last. The path in the lower bracket of Group A started with the NAVI -
Gambit match, which ended with a confident victory of our guys (2:0). The next contender of
Natus Vincere was the American team
Cloud9, and although this opponent delivered a number of problems, they still could not win a map - 2:0 in favor of
NAVI.
In the match for the exit to the playoffs, Natus Vincere had to fight with the "new star" of the championship -
ENCE team. The dramatic fight lasted until the third map, where our team already prevailed, allowing the Born to Win to advance further: the Finnish team was defeated with a score of 2:1.
NAVI began the playoffs from the quarterfinals, and the rival at this stage was the team
fnatic. We were ready for them and beat the Swedes in a fairly confident manner - 2:0. The semi-final promised to become a landmark, as the guys had to fight with the best team of the world at the moment -
Astralis. The game incredibly tense and close, and the teams fought for each round, for a minimum economic advantage! The key rounds of this fight were taken by
NAVI, the result was a victory with a score of 2:1.
Finally, the home stretch! Unexpectedly for many, in the grand final, Natus Vincere's rival was the
BIG team, who beat the
FaZe Clan (2: 1) in the semi-finals. In this meeting,
NAVI demonstrated a well-coordinated team game, defeated the German team with a score of 3: 1 and won the championship title of ESL One Cologne!
We congratulate the guys with a worthy performance and wish them good luck in future battles. Special thanks to the fans who supported our team throughout the tournament and gave strength to fight to the last! #gonavi
