Road to the LAN finals
Let's start with a little backstory. Qualifying for PUBG Global Invitational 2018 turned out to be a far more difficult challenge for us than for most of the other contenders, the reason being the age restriction the game has in Germany, the host country for PGI. Our Dmitrii " Shade1" Roshchin couldn 't participate as a player, so Team Unique's Evgeniy "iLame_en" Pekhtelev for help, while Shade1 took on the role of an analyst.
With this roster, we entered the qualification battles. Our boys had to give their best to qualify, taking part in a total of 60 maps! We passed several stages, including open and as well as a . As we inched closer to the coveted PGI 2018 spot, the games became more and more intense. Despite a tough competition, our boys made decent showings, leaving fans with no doubt as to what they are capable of.
Our run through the open qualifiers was relatively smooth. We secured the leading position in a confident fashion and qualified for the next stage even before all games were played. We then were able to prove to be one of the best teams in CIS again, as we topped the standings of the closed qualifier on day 1 and gradually extended the lead.
One of the 20 teams which qualified for the PGI CIS LAN Finals, we to participate in a battle over two spots of the CIS region. Two main favorites, Natus Vincere and AVANGAR, were expectedly ahead of everybody else, the only question being who would take home the trophy and prize money. Born to Win and the Kazakh team took turns topping the standings, but it was NAVI who came out on top.

The West delegated to Germany not only star teams like NAVI and AVANGAR, but also no less promising Team Liquid, Pittsburgh Knights and Ghost Gaming. We are sure, for fans of this discipline, these names are not an empty phrase, these teams can and must contest the highest places. It is still unclear what to expect from the representatives of the eastern scene: there is too much gap between the two major divisions, so we will have to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of opponents on the go.
