DreamHack Masters Stockholm: NAVI.GG.BET to playoffs!
NAVI will play on the Ericsson Globe stage!
After beating Ghost Gaming, we advance to the playoffs of DreamHack Masters Stockholm, where we'll be facing off against
North.
We had quite an unfortunate start into the event, falling 17-19 to Ghost Gaming in the opening match. Recapping the game, our boys had an impressive T side showing and won the first half with a 3-point advantage.
The CT side saw us trying out a variety of different approaches from double AWP setups to aggressive plays at long, etc, but most of the attempts proved futile with us struggling in terms of economy and not gaining the momentum we needed. The opponents stood at two match points at some point, but we managed to carry the game into overtime. Unfortunately, Ghost Gaming put in a convincing game there and close out the series in their favor.
The elimination match saw us take on NRG. It started off not too successful for us again, as we lost Inferno 12-16. Fortunately, the remaining two maps were Overpass and Train, which are our strongest maps.
Overpass saw us fighting back at the beginning, as we started with a 2-6 scoreline, but we evened out the situation till the end of the first half, finishing it with a 7-8 score. The T side saw us with a decent performance again, and we closed out the second map with a 16-11 score.
Train also went quite smoothly – we first won the T side with a 7-8 score and then lost only pistols, the ensuing two ecos and two gun rounds on the CT side. As a result, we won Train with a 16-12 score.
The second place decider of Group B saw us meet our first-round opponents, Ghost Gaming again. We were up for a bo3 this time, with the game unfolding the following way: Ghost Gaming triumphed on Mirage (16-11), and we won Nuke (12-16) and the decider, Inferno (16-6). s1mple was the MVP of this match with a 82:44 KD, 1.67 rating, and a 110.1 ADR.
Congratulations to our boys on reaching the playoffs of DreamHack Masters Stockholm! The main event will be held on September 1-2, with our opponents being North. We'll be looking to get a solid preparation for tomorrow's encounter to go into quarter-finals with spirits high, and we need your support! #gonavi
