ESL Pro League S8: victory over Heroic

A very confident game from our guys!

NAVI.GG.BET fought with  Heroic in a dual Bo1 at ESL Pro League S8. The first map, Dust2, went the way of NAVI at 16:9, and so did Train at 16:6.

Dust2 - Natus Vincere [1:0] Heroic

The first map was Dust2. NAVI didn't have a very good start, dropping pistols and the next round, but coming online during the third and fourth. Round 5 had  Zeus in a 1v2 situation - despite having a defuse kit, he decided to save the AWP.  Heroic claimed another round, but we managed to take 2 in a row again, stabilizing the economy. After another couple of rounds, NAVI had a convincing advantage, with Edward stepping up massively, outfragging everybody.

 Heroic managed to claim a round after a 5-round series for NAVI, but they only had 1 player left alive, so their economy was still not in a top shape, unlike ours.  NAVI were able to take the 8th round, securing the half in a 2v2 retake situation. That forced  Heroic into a rather limited buy, yet they still managed to win it -  electroNic and  flamie saved a double AWP. That allowed us to take a round back - for the final round of the half,  Heroic managed to plant and defend, as we take it 9:6.

The second half's pistol round was taken by  Heroic, as well as the next one. NAVI, though, were swift to drive the advantage back to 3 rounds, as the score hit 11:8. 1 round for the opponent didn't turn the game around at all, with NAVI taking the 14th round, and a match point straight away, with very little complications. The last round of the map didn't pose any challenges either, as we take the game with a 16:9 on the board.

Train - Natus Vincere [1:0] Heroic

The second map, on the contrary, started off very well for NAVI - 4 rounds our way is not something we see too often. The 6th round had electroNic smoke defuse the bomb right on time, as it seemed there was almost no way for us to take it. Zeus was the only one damaged in round 7, as  Heroic lost all without taking anybody in return. After 7 rounds our way,  Heroic came online, scoring their first 3 points, but NAVI had what it takes to secure 8-point lead - we secure the half at least. The 3-point upset by  Heroic was their only series in the half, as by the end of the half,  NAVI were at 11:4.

The second half, though, had  Heroic take 2 initial rounds. Still, the distance was too large for NAVIto feel threatened. A couple more rounds our way secured our economy, while  Heroic were struggling to find any opening into the game. It didn't take us long to get to the match point, and then, a confident play coming from the entire team secured NAVI the Train - 16:6.
