s1mple — OMEN Challenge 2019 champion
Tournament recap
The OMEN Challenge 2019 championship, which was held today with the support of OMEN by HP in London, has come to an end. Eight players, including 6 invited professionals and 2 amateurs, have competed for a prize pool of $50,000.
The show tournament was held according to rather non-standard rules: first, the participants played in the Deathmatch mode for the seeding in the playoffs, followed by dueling phase. It is worth noting that the quarter-finals were held in the format of best of 15, the semi-finals - best of 25, and the Grand Final was played up to 18 wins (best of 35).
In the first round of the playoffs, Denis “electroNic” Sharipov left the battle arena, losing to
Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt with a score of 6 : 8. In turn,
Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev easily defeated one of the amateurs —
hayden. In the semi-finals of the championship, Sasha also met no resistance: with a score of 13: 5 he outplayed the
Astralis player —
Niсolai "dev1ce" Reedtz.
In the finals, s1mple met with his teammate's offender,
NBK-. The decisive fight for the title of the best duelist turned out to be quite intense, but the Born to Win managed to get the upper hand. Oleksandr again proved that he is the best CS:GO player in the world, and also earned $ 30,000. Congratulations!
