After a short break, our team joins Counter-Strike battles once again! From October 1 to October 6, the updated NAVI.GG.BET roster will take part in DreamHack Masters Malmo 2019, and let's see what we should expect there.c

Tournament details

DreamHack Masters will be the third CS: GO Major for Malmö. Malmö Arena, which opened in November 2008, was chosen as the competition venue. The arena seats 15,500 spectators during concerts and 12,500 spectators during sports events.

The groups will use the GSL system, with 16 teams split into 2 groups of 8. Only the opening matches will be Bo1, the rest is all Bo3.

As for the playoffs, the 3 best teams from each group will go to the final part of the tournament: the winners will immediately go to the semi-finals, and the second and third places will begin their journey from the quarter-finals. Games will be held in the usual format for everyone - single elimination, best of 3. The prize pool is $ 250,000.

In addition, DreamHack Masters Malmo is part of the Intel Grand Slam, where teams compete for a prize of $ 1,000,000 - the six-time champion of the Masters tournaments (10 attempts after the first victory) or the four-time winner of the Masters competitions (in this case you need to win one particularly large tournament, such as a major).

Team Liquid is closest to winning this IGS (victory at IEM Chicago). By the end of ESL One New York, Astralis or EG will join the American team.

Group stage opponents

NAVI were seeded into group B with Team Liquid, Evil Geniuses, OpTic, mousesports, NiP, Grayhound and North, which is the first rival of the Born to Win at the event.

The first three teams from our group have played at ESL One NY 2019 this weekend. After a long period without LAN tournaments, the Danes from OpTic got a chance to prove themselves, but did not take full advantage of it, having only claimed one victory at the tournament — FaZe Clan. OpTic got to Malmo thanks to a victory in a smaller tournament - DreamHack Open Summer 2019.

An important news of the past week is NRG CS:GO being bought by Evil Geniuses. As for the performance of American teams in New York, the tournament turned out better for them: both squads finished the group stage in the first places, but Team Liquid stopped a step from the final, losing to Astralis (1: 2), but EG managed to beat G2 without problems (2: 0) and on Sunday evening defeated Astralis!

In addition to European and American teams,there is one representative of Oceania in group B — Grayhound. The team made it to Malmo through the regional qualifiers, beating Genuine Gaming (3 : 1). Grayhound had some changes after the major — erkaSt was replaced by INS.

The last three rivals are representatives of the European region. After a bad result at the Major tournament, NiP together with GeT_RiGhT took part in the BLAST Pro Series Moscow (third place) and the V4 Future Sports Festival, where the guys managed to get out of the group, but in the quarterfinal they fell to Virtus.pro. The team has recently announced a new player to join, a former fnatic player — Twist. The team's veteran, GeT_RiGhT , is not planning to end his career just yet, and is currently looking for team.

As for mousesports, they've taken part in a few qualifiers, with quite good results. So, the guys successfully overcame the qualifying stage for DreamHack Masters Malmo, and also received a slot at IEM Beijing 2019. Still, a good performance at the preliminaries was overshadowed by an unsatisfactory result in Budapest - a defeat from Virtus.pro, and 3-4th place. You will get to know our first rival ( North) better in matchday, which will appear soon.

Hopefully, the bootcamp week was productive and NAVI will show a good game. We believe Natus Vincere will fight for the title in Malmö and take the first point in the third season of Intel Grand Slam! #navination
