DreamHack Masters Malmo 2019: NAVI.GG.BET — to the playoffs!
NAVI.GG.BET will perform at the Malmö Arena!
After defeating OpTic, the NAVI.GG.BET guaranteed themselves a place in the playoffs. The match with NiP determined who would go to the semifinals and who would begin the journey from the quarter-finals in the final stage of the tournament. Our five turned out to be stronger than the Swedish roster (2-0) and so their next match will be on Saturday!
Natus Vincere's path to this success began with the victory over the North (16 : 8 - Overpass). It is worth noting that our guys showed in this match the perfect game in defense, without giving the opponent a single round! On the second day, the Born to Win had to meet another Danish five - OpTic Gaming. Before that, the Danes sensationally beat Team Liquid and sent the Americans to fight for survival in the lower bracket.
The game with OpTic began with the pick of Natus Vincere (Dust2), where our team started for the T side and gained a solid advantage before the side switch(11: 4). Although with some difficulties, the guys managed to bring it to a logical conclusion and celebrate the victory on Dust2 (16 : 8). Next, it was OpTic's turn to choose a map (Nuke). Despite losing the defense (7 : 8), the NAVI did not lose their spirit and caught the enemy by surprise, demonstrating their readiness to play in the attack! The outcome is a victory on Nuke (16 : 12) and best of 3 match in the pocket (2:0).
Such end of the match with OpTic provided NAVI with at least a slot in the quarterfinals, and with NiP our team had to play for a place in the semifinals. The European team, yet again, gave Natus Vincere quite a run, but we managed to come out on top. The final result is a victory with a score of 2: 0 (16 : 8 - Overpass; 16 : 13 - Inferno) and the team advanced to the semifinals!
It is worth noting that the best NAVI players in the group stage were Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev and Denis “electronic” Sharipov, who finished this part of the tournament in the second (rating - 1.38) and third (rating - 1.25) places, respectively. In addition, Sasha topped the list of players with headshots per round (0.48) and was the third among those who got the highest number of kills per round (0.82).
Congratulations to our five with a good performance at the group stage and reaching the semifinals! The final stage of the tournament will be held on October 4-6, and NAVI will know their opponent after Friday's matches. We hope that our players will study the next opponent in detail and will reach the grand final of the tournament! #navination
