Jahk: «No time to rest»
NAVI Analyst and Coach — About Six Invitational 2020 and Pro League Season 11
Cyril «jahk» Renoud discussed the topic of the last invite in the Six Invitational 2020, as well as evaluated the teams in Pro League Season 11.
G2 Esports not being able to take the European spot is obviously a surprise! But In Europe, there are so many talented teams and only one spot. If a surprise can happen, it’s in Europe!
Either that nothing really surprising in the results of the qualifiers. Each team qualified is in the Pro League in their own region. I’m happy to see that Fnatic, with their recent changes, manage to take their spot back as the top team in APAC.
I don’t think they lacked something, G2 Esport always been a team that prefers playing in LAN. Competition is hard in Europe and this time Team Secret & MnM Gaming were just better.
We never know what is going on in a team. I think G2’s recent results led them to a change in their composition. They chose to replace Goga with Cryin. I guess the idea in this is to bring more aggressivity in their game. Now they need to grow as a team with their new member, it takes time but they are experienced enough to face it and I’m sure they will be a strong opponent again this season.
As Champion of Six Invitational 2019, it would make sense that G2 Esports is the lucky one for the last spot to defend their title. But again, there are so many talented teams in every region that a lot would deserve to be invited.
To be honest, I think no one should retain the authority to invite a team. In my opinion, there are only two ways to select teams for the Six Invitational: either the same as we do now but last spot needs to be through a qualifier or another minor, or to the letter, invite every team with no qualifications.
There are too many great teams in this Six Invitationals to determine favorites. This edition will be spicy for sure because all teams can pretend to take the title of World Champion!
No, we didn’t. We knew that forZe is a great opponent and that it would be a tough game.
They were well prepared against us and we did too many mistakes. They managed to capitalize on these mistakes to take this win. But like I said in my tweet, a Pro League is not a race, but a marathon.
forZe looks strong for sure. They beat us on the first day but it seems, with their recent loss against Chaos Esports Club, they need to find their « Cruising speed » to be more consistent in their game.
BDS Esport was terrifying when they were playing with Panix. With the recent kick of Panix and FiskeR, it seems they need to work again and find this thing that made them the terrifying opponent they were before.
I would say forZe in 3rd or 4th place and BDS Esport in 7th or 8th place. We’re not immune to a surprise, especially this season.
I would say Team Empire & Rogue. If forZe manages to find their marks they will be a real contender for the top half of the standings. For the rest, we’ll need to wait and see what the future brings!
We achieved a dream with finishing Champion last season. Our team is composed of really talented and passionate players. We’re giving our best every day to be able to keep our title.
Obviously there’s a kind of pressure in everyone's minds. Because we know that our opponents will give and take everything they can to down the Champions of last season.
I think we need to remember what made us win last season: work. We can be proud of what we’ve done but we can’t rest. To overcome this psychological barrier, we have to work harder and harder to bring new things in our gameplay and pretend to be Champions again!
