DreamLeague Season 13: victory over Evil Geniuses
The first game of The Born to Win!
The first rival of Natus Vincere at DreamLeague Season 13 is going to be
Evil Geniuses. Match format — best of 3.
The "geniuses" qualified for the championship from second place in the regional qualifiers: in qualifying matches Evil Geniuses lost to
Fighting PandaS and fell into the lower bracket. There, the team first beat
Ninjas in Pyjamas, and then took revenge from the “pandas”. As a result, the "evil geniuses" are in Germany and preparing to demonstrate their maximum in the tournament.
The last tournament played by Evil Geniuses players was ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational Singapore, where they played very confidently at the group stage and then reached the championship finals. But in the final match, luck turned its back on the “evil geniuses” who were defeated by
Vici Gaming with a score of 0: 3.
Notably, the last fight between NAVI and
Evil Geniuses happened in Singapore. The opponent outplayed the “yellow-blacks” pretty confidently with a score of 0: 2, so we can safely expect that our guys have thoroughly studied the past matches.
No introductions are necessary for the opponent: they are five very strong players who have long established themselves on the professional stage. Arteezy,
Abed,
RAMZES666,
Cr1t-, as well as the captain,
Fly: each of them has a very high individual skill!
The upcoming match will be very difficult for Natus Vincere. But we are sure that the guys have properly prepared for the first opponent and will be able to show a decent game in the opening match! #navination

The early game of the matchup went on equal terms considering the amount of gold earned by the teams: both of the sides farmed quite well, so neither of the teams could gain a significant advantage. However, our team was better with decision making, who at around 16 minutes killed Roshan and the aegis got picked up by Templar Assassin.
Midgame went to the side of opponents: Evil Geniuses were doing great and got almost all the kills without a trade-off. Thanks to these actions, the advantage for Evil Geniuses increased by 10k gold.
The first game ended at a 30-minute mark, after an unsuccessful fight by NAVI at the top lane. After losing a couple of heroes, the "yellow-black" had to accept their faith and raise up the white flag — 0 : 1.

This time the early game went in favor of our team, which got a lot of kills and as a result, at 19 minutes Natus Vincere had already 4k gold advantage.
Midgame also was in the pocket of our team, which continued to have great fights and kill enemy heroes, however, the opponent didn't give up just yet and made some successful ganks. Due to these actions, the difference in gold between teams for a long time has not exceeded the 8-10k gold mark.
At the 36 minute mark, "yellow-black" had a great teamfight, wiping the enemy team, which allowed to destroy the barracks at the top lane, as well as to force them to buyback. At this point, NAVI has 15k gold advantage.
At the 42 minute mark, after another unsuccessful teamfight by the Evil Geniuses, they accepted their loss, making it a draw after two games!

The start of the game was very farm-oriented by both teams, due to this fact there were only 3 kills made within 15 minutes of the game. The first really big fight took place at 18-minute mark: during that teamfight Evil Geniuses lost all their heroes, however,
Natus Vincere lost quite a few heroes too.
Midgame was eventful with lots of skirmishes, which sometimes didn't bring anyone down. Evil Geniuses, despite having 10k gold advantage, couldn't get into highground, due to Repair Kit item, in the hands of the "yellow-black". And at the 35-minute mark the difference in gold was half as much: the opponents lost 4 heroes during the teamfight.
After a great fight on the 39th minute of the game, our guys got ahead in terms of gold advantage and also destroyed t3 tower and one of the barracks. This lead Natus Vincere to have 8k gold advantage.
The match had come to an end at the 46-minute mark, after our team had entered the bottom lane. Subsequently, NAVI players were able to deal with
Evil Geniuses' heroes and see gg's in the chat — 2 : 1!
