New rules in the allocation of invites to the Majors!

Valve announced its plans to change the system of entering the Major tournaments. So, the company will replace direct invitations to CS:GO Majors with a rating system.

This was communicated by the company in a letter that was sent to major tournament operators. The first in the list of tournaments where teams can score points is ESL One Rio Major. The rating system will also include two more tournaments between the Spring and Autumn majors.

According to the results of the competition, the eight best teams in the ranking will receive the status of "Legends", and the teams that took 9-16 places will start the major from the "Challengers" stage. The remaining eight slots will be played by participants in regional minors.

Valve has posted the requirements for two rating tournaments:

— They're scheduled to take place from July to September;

— There must be at least 24 participants;

— Tournaments will end with a LAN-stage, in which at least eight teams will be able to participate.
