IEM Katowice 2020: victory vs Astralis

The game starts at 18:55 CET.

In the semi-final of IEM Katowice,  NAVI -  Astralis duel will take place. The match will begin on February 28 at 18:55 CET and will be held in the best of 3 format.

 Astralis began their journey in the tournament with a victory over Cloud9 (2: 0). Then the Danes met with Vitality, where a playoff ticket was at stake. The French team could not provide serious resistance - a confident victory for  Astralis (2: 0). To improve their own positions and get into the playoffs, players had to beat fnatic, which the Danes successfully managed (2: 0).

The last time NAVI and  Astralis played each other was at the BLAST Spring Series, and then our guys won (2: 1). In the last three months, the opponent has had the best results on Overpass (5 wins, 0 losses). The worst performance of the Danish team is on Dust2 (2 wins, 3 losses). It is worth noting that  Astralis has a map that they ban out all the time - Mirage. We hope that the  Natus Vincere participants will continue to enjoy the game and pass to the IEM Katowice 2020 final! #navination

Dust2 — Natus Vincere [16:5] Astralis

The starting section of the battle on Dust2 was retained by  NAVI: the guys won the pistol, force buy and eco. The gun round, in turn, went to the Danish team. However, the terrorists then gave two points away, which provided  NAVI with confident leadership - 5 : 1.

Despite the early loss of a player, the eighth round went into the Born to Win's asset. Then our guys captured the plant-side and planted the bomb, forcing three terrorists to leave for the save. The opponent never managed to get a lot of points in defense and lost the first half with the score 1 : 14.

 Astralis had to win the pistol and gun round to make a claim their chances for the comeback. After unsuccessful pistol round,  Astralis turned the force buy into a positive outcome earning a point. The opponent managed to earn a few more points, but nothing more. The final result was 16 : 5 in favor of  NAVI.

Nuke — Natus Vincere [16:5] Astralis

Nuke started with another round exchange:  Astralis were stronger in the pistol, while  NAVI was better at part purchase. The Born To Win had no problem dealing with the economic rounds of terrorists. In the gun round  flamie made an Ace, which allowed our team to take a serious lead - 5 : 1.

Once the economy was recovered, there was an exchange of rounds between the teams, which led to problems with terrorists' finances. Later on,  Astralis tried to turn the tide by using several timeouts. However, short discussions did not help to correct the situation.  Natus Vincere did not give their opponent a single point and set the final score in the first half - 13 : 2.

In the second pistol and eco round, the Danish Five have prevailed. The full purchase round also went to the  Astralis, however, the CT wasn't able to defend in the force buy round. 

One of the crucial moments of the second map was destined to be the twentieth round: if the Danes lose this, they would run out of money and  NAVI has nine match points to work with. And our guys came out on top in this situation! As a result,  NAVI defeated  Astralis on Nuke 16 : 5.
