ESL One Rio 2020: points distribution
Details on scoring rating points
Valve has announced how the regional ranking system will work and how 24 teams will be identified for participation in ESL One Rio.
By removing the direct invitations, the organization will identify participants in the new major through the regional qualifications. Valve said in a statement that we will have three tournaments: spring, summer and autumn.
The Valve table indicates that StarLadder Berlin Major 2019 participants received between 300 and 800 points depending on their place in the championship. Thus, Natus Vincere got 600 points. The less time is left until the final tournament, the more points will be awarded: 1600 points in spring and 2500 points in autumn.
In addition, Valve specified what penalties the team may face for changing its line-up: each member's departure deprives the club of 20% of points. During the tournament, teams can change players for a coach — this will cost the team 20% of points received in the championship.
