New Dota 2 roster
Natus Vincere esports club has unveiled its new Dota 2 roster. 2 new players are joining the yellow-black camp: Nikita "young G" Bochko and Aleksandr "Immersion" Khmelevskoy, who are going to replace Idan "MagicaL" Vardanyan and Vitalii "so bad" Oshmankevich. Andrii "Mag" Chipenko has talked about the process of roster formation, and you can take a look at his thoughts in the comment below.
Immersion first hit the Dota pro scene 2 years ago — in 2018. He has some trophies under the belt, getting most of those while playing under the banners of Gambit Esports. To name a few, Immersion was the runner-up at The Bucharest Minor, StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 1, ESL One Katowice 2019, and finally, the champion title at WePlay! Dota 2 Valentine Madness. For the last several months (starting from October 2019), Immersion has been playing at Team Spirit.
As for young G, the Belarusian player has debuted on the pro scene the same year Immersion did — 2018, but a few months earlier. His first team was Nemiga Gaming — a team from Belarus. Young G’s taken part in some tournaments over the course of his career with varying success; among the last prominent ones was the 4th place at Parimatch League Season 2. Nikita was a player of Winstrike at the time (since February 2020).
Natus Vincere club management would like to express sincere gratitude to the management of Team Spirit and Winstrike for their cooperation and commendable professionalism during the transfer talks.
"The last results of the team left a lot to be desired; it seemed the team had stalled - something had to be changed. The situation on the pro scene - quarantine, TI being postponed - provided us with just the opportunity to switch things up, to find the optimal players for the team, to make sure the upcoming season will be much more productive.
We’ve been considering several options this time around - players have provided their input and vision on what will work best for everyone. Young G seems to be a perfect fit - an ambitious young player, eager to prove his worth and become the best position 2 player. He knows the game, and he’s got potential, and we hope to empower him to develop that potential.
As for Immersion - Aleksandr has a diverse pool of strong heroes, which is a testament to his professional and gamer skills. He also possesses a truly valuable understanding of the game, which will help the team immensely. He’s given us the motivation and took the role of the leader; it is crucial for the team to function as a strong unit.
I am sure this is the right roster. We hope this is the team that will achieve many summits of pro Dota, and will delight the fans during the tournaments."
