
ESL One: Cologne 2020 details
LAN tournaments are coming back!
The details of the ESL One: Cologne 2020 have been now revealed, the tournament will take place from August 23rd–27th. It is expected that the championship will be held in LAN-format, but due to the coronavirus the situation may change.
There will be 16 teams fighting for the $ 1 000 000 prize pool: the first eight participants are already known and the remaining slots will be claimed during qualification on August 21-22. The main part of ESL One: Cologne 2020 will be held in two stages: first the groups in GSL format, and then playoffs in Single-Elimination bracket. All matches until the final are best of 3, and the final match is best of 5.
It should be mentioned that ESL One: Cologne 2020 may be the first LAN tournament in a long time. Prior to that Natus Vincere played online in , and the spring finals of , as well as winning and .
