Kirill "9impulse" Kostyv gave an interview after for the last chance ALGS Super Regional, where he shared his opinion on the number of slots, and also evaluated the latest changes in the game.

You are in boot camp in Kyiv. How do you like the city? Did you manage to take a walk or did you spend all your time in Apex Legends?

I already feel like I'm at home in Kyiv. Especially when NAVI media is around, they show and tell me everything. I've been here a bunch of times already, it's a very cool city, a lot of friends here.

On the stream, we saw that you often use Revenant and Crypto. Do these characters fit well into the current meta, or are they more of a team's signature characters?

There's no point in hiding it, we've been struggling lately with the teamwork. And since we're all overwatch players(Nikita is hiding it), we decided to pick characters that are more skill-based rather than ones that require teamwork.

I would like to focus a little more on Crypto. What changes have been made to make this character more useful in matches? After all, we haven't seen him under your control so often before.

Revenant gives 150 extra health, and Crypto takes 150. The plan is simple, it is imbalanced if you can hit with him.

What about the other characters? Which of them are absolutely useless now, and which may be the substitute in the match?

It seems Bangalore is useless right now... I haven't seen her anywhere in a long time. Oh, I remember, ad hog gaming played with her and Bloodhound (smokes with Bloodhound Ult or if you have a vision and everything is cool), but it didn't work out. However, they managed to run at us twice in the final and bury both of us.

Is it fair for Europe and the Middle East to have the same number of slots in last chance qualification? In the European level of play is a bit high after all.

Definitely not! The Turkish teams are very weak. There are a couple of exceptions, but they will pass on points anyway because their qualification is just a freebie. :) And even take last chance qualifications: we have 120 + teams (I don`t remember the exact number), and they have 16.

Speaking of qualification finals, which rivals were the most dangerous for you?

Mistakes were made: in the first game, we were scared and played incorrectly. Everyone started to push by themselves instead of playing together. We didn't even trust each other on the information. Also in one of the games, our opponent with the controller gave us 150 + 100 from one clip of the "carabiner" (he was a solo player, I think he had 3x carabine). In the last game we were unlucky with the zone: we couldn't survive there, and we were choked really badly. We ressed two or three times — I can't remember, and it hurts to recall... Five squads haunted us, we barely made it out.

The developers of the game reported about changes on the map World's Edge. Which changes did you like the most?

I liked that they added craft: a cool system, especially now that everyone is going to play with energy-based guns... You won't find ammo for them, but you will be able to craft them! And as for the location... There are a lot of chokes that you can't get through, why aren't they removing them? I don't understand that.

One of the most interesting features is the train: the developers decided to remove it. Why do you think this decision is related to? And how do you feel about it?

It's the right call. It's too random with the train. I saw a team that had 4 games out of 6 in the finals and they were all in purple and gold.

The Mirage Voyage was removed. What can you tell us about it?

Of course, you can't avoid the new character — Rampart. How do you like this character? Will she find his place in meta?

I highly doubt that. Specifically, her walls are nonsense. The Legend is weak on paper.

R-99 — a popular weapon is now only in a supply drop. How will this affect meta? What weapon could now serve as an alternative?

The energy-based guns will be in the meta: it's like they reduced TTK on purpose, everyone goes down in a heartbeat.

If we are talking about a nagging pandemic, how do you feel about the development of the esports component of Apex Legends under these conditions? Are you satisfied, or is it possible to hold more tournaments?

I am content, I would also like to be satisfied with our results, but that's in the next season of tournaments. It's a shame!

Pretty soon you will be playing in a Hyper Scape tournament with Sunset and JoyStiCK. Tell us, have you met a Team Empire player before? How did your trio even form?

I never met him, but I've heard of the mega-cool "emperors" from the Rainbow Six Siege. I also saw that he played a lot of Hyper Scape when he was looking for the third one.
