R6 / News / 14 March 2021 — 11:00

On March 5, Rickard "Secretly" Olofsson joined the gb NAVI Rainbow Six Siege team and will be taking on the role of support. Let's get acquainted with the newcomer.

We should note that Rickard has a lot of experience in the professional scene. He showed his first results in the eu HelioN eSports in 2016. Secretly tried to break into the Pro League with eu HelioN eSports but without much success.

Before I started playing R6 I played a game called S.K.I.L.L SF2. I was a sub for a Pro League team in that game and got to travel to my first international LAN. When they shut down the Pro League in that game, my team decided to give R6 a try and that's how my career in the game started. I have played games competitively for about 15 years, but it's not until Rainbow Six Siege that I have done it professionally.

Rickard made a strong appearance at eu EURONICS Gaming. This team managed to break into the first Six Invitational 2017, successfully completing the European qualification. However, the team took only 5-6th places at the tournament.

Back then I don't think anyone thought the game would be as big as it is today. When we went to the first invitational nobody had salaries, nobody was playing full-time, everyone was just doing it for fun because they loved the game and they loved to compete. It's incredible to see how far the game has come.

The team lasted a little longer before they failed to make it into the Pro League. Secretly then joined eu Playing Ducks / eu sKNOWS to perform in the Pro League Y2 S3, with this team he managed to even take 3rd place at the Pro League. Rickard competed in various championships and even tried to make it to the Six Invitational 2018 before finding his place in the us Digital Chaos.

The organization subsequently rebranded itself as us Chaos Esports Club and he stuck with them for 3 years straight. It was under this tag that Rickard had his most successful period to date in Rainbow Six Siege.

Most of my time now is taken up by Rainbow Six Siege, but the little time I do have is mostly taken up by watching basketball. I used to be a player for about 15 years but had to quit since the job I had at the time didn't allow me to practice. The love for it is still there though so in the future I will be looking to get back into it but for now, I'm happy to just watch the NBA and Euroleague.

During the two and half years in the scene, he had the chance to play in the gb Fierce Esports. Richard and his teammates have competed at championships of various levels. His list of accomplishments includes finishing fifth and sixth in his ninth and tenth Pro League seasons, respectively, finishing fourth at DreamHack Valencia 2019 and Allied Esports Vegas Minor 2019, as well as winning the Nordic Championship 2017/2020

When the staff came to me with the offer I was quickly convinced about joining. The talk we had about the goals for the team and how we wanted to achieve them lined up perfectly with what I myself would have wanted so it wasn't much of a question. For this season we will be trying to continue keeping a top 4 placing in EUL, and most importantly do it in a way that is consistent and that we can build on in the long term. Everyone is of course striving for the ultimate goal to win the Six Invitational and being the best team in the world.

I will mostly be playing the hard support role, playing operators like Smoke and Ace. I will also be helping out with IGLing.

Now Rickard will try to use all of his experience to get the best results possible! We're sure se Secretly and the Born to Win has a long and successful journey ahead of them! #navination
