Completely new NAVI PUBG roster
The first matches of the new roster will start today at 18:00 CEST.
PUBG Global Invitational S 2021 is over and NAVI finished 17th place. The $3.500.000 prize pool of this three-month tournament was promising, and the results weren’t living up to the expectations of the team and club. Taking the underwhelming 2020 season into account, changes in the roster were inevitable. So far, we planned to stick to the core of the team and only do minor adjustments. Unfortunately, the squad has an internal dispute and therefore is split up into several camps. Yet forcing them to keep playing together against their will won’t help them become one cohesive unit again.
Rebuilding the roster around one specific player available on the market is a big risk for the club. Especially when important tournaments are only a few days away. That's why we’ve decided to change our discipline strategy fundamentally. Therefore, a complete ex-Tornado Energy team with clearly structured communication and well-sorted in-game procedures has moved under the NAVI tag.
The squad has been competing together for around a year now. During that time, they won the DreamHack Winter Showdown and also took 2nd place at the European seasons of PUBG Continental Series 1 and PUBG Continental Series: Charity Showdown. The next tournament for them under the NAVI tag will be the ESL PUBG Masters: Spring Edition, which will be held online from April 16-25.
“We are glad to welcome Mellman, alya, Qwizzy and xmpl to NAVI! These guys have been proving themselves for a long time, showing consistently good results and they are ready to compete for the title of European champion. The boys are a close-knit and friendly team, fired up to win and, like our club, aiming to qualify for the PGC 2021.
I would like to thank the previous squad for their work and dedication, we sincerely wish them all the best for their future. Especially considering the recent announcements, it will be a challenging season. Yet we promise our fans that we will do our best to delight them with positive results throughout the upcoming tournaments.”
“We are proud to join the Natus Vincere team, and honoured to represent such an eminent organization. We promise to show our strongest sides in PUBG, for the club and especially the fans. We always aim for the best possible result and we hope to meet our personal expectations and NAVI's goals.”
We would like to thank ceh9, TheTab, Besto and Orange for their help to develop the team's discipline and for the victories they brought to every fan out there. No player of the previous NAVI roster will keep his current contract with the club and therefore is open to new offers.
“Thanks to NAVI for these 2 years of working together side by side. We are thankful to Yevhen Zolotarov for this chance, it was an astonishing experience.”
