NAVI R6 analyst talks about the matches of the European League 2021 Stage 1
Interview with NAVI analyst
NAVI's Rainbow Six Siege analyst, Razig "DraZ" Abida, shared his thoughts on our team's matches in the first stage of the European League 2021.
Yes, we like to work early on new maps and we built some confidence on Chalet. We still need to work on it as our opponents will try to bring new things as well.
We know them a lot from UK Ireland Nationals so we know how well they can perform. We faced them early on the stage, so not at their full potential I think but I’m not surprised at all to see them at 3rd place. They deserved it and the addition of Kendrew helped them a lot.
They have the players to do so, now it’s difficult to say from an external view. Globally, I think the 2nd stage will be tighter than the first one so I expect everybody to be better than on the first stage, Team Secret included.
Honestly, we knew we would have lost if Byron hadn't scored those clutches so it was a relief and Byron was amazing, but right after we said that this game should be a reminder that the work is never over.
- The highlight of the whole stage was the game against BDS Esport. How did you prepare for such a strong opponent?
The reminder from the Virtus.pro game was the perfect way to prepare BDS Esport. With this group, we know what we can accomplish, so first, we work a lot on our plays and, with jahk we tried to bring our insight on BDS playstyles as we know them well. But overall the players played really well with barely any mistakes done. This shows that they are able to show up against anybody.
Team Vitality played really well, they deserved their win. We’re still a young team that needs to learn their lessons, maybe we went a little too confident from our BDS Esport win, we made too many mistakes and not the usual ones.
In this game, I think we made it hard for them to deploy their plays, then they still suffer from the difficulties from last season. They are rebuilding in some way and those things take time. I think it’s hard for them mentally when they start losing rounds and struggle to find a solution. They have to find a way to get over this. Again it takes time.
Maybe the bootcamp wasn’t efficient as they hoped. I mean, since they came back home they began to play a bit better. Hard to say but I think they will be a lot better on stage 2.
A bit of both. Honestly, we wanted to win this game, and we had a speech to do so and to not give it away cause we’re first. But again we’re a young team and it was really hard for the players to focus knowing they won the first stage. I hope it will stay as a good lesson but G2 Esports played well and I think it would have been difficult to win that game on Coastline against them anyway.
