The Bucharest Major in 3 minutes
The third point on the route of NAVI.GG.BET was Bucharest, the capital of Romania. Our team took part in The Bucharest Major, felt all the pros and cons of the Swiss system, had 2 CIS showdowns and made a plan for further improvements. The tournament is already over, the rewards have been given, Dota Pro Circuit points distributed.
Let's refresh the memories of The Bucharest Major with this brief report. This is also a good opportunity to learn about the key moments for those who have not seen the tournament. Let's dive right in!
Group stage
The first day of the group stage was quite a disappointment for the CIS fans: Natus Vincere, Vega Squadron and Virtus.pro lost their bo1's, while Team Liquid, Team Secret and OG broke ahead. Nonetheless, in the second round, Evil Geniuses, TNC Pro Team, Newbee and VGJ.Thunder showed their strong suits, finishing the day with 2:0 score. Both NAVI and Virtus.pro have recovered from their initial situation and took the needed wins.
The end of the third round determined the first teams to make it into the playoffs, namely VGJ.Thunder and Evil Geniuses. TNC Pro Team and Newbee dropped their series, but were still in good standing. Ironically, the opponents of the "yellow-black" were the "bears" - they turned out to be stronger. Team Liquid and Vici Gaming were also pretty close to not making it into the playoffs. Vega Squadron also did not manage to stay in the tournament, as they lost to LGD.FY.
The fourth day was a very tense, but an interesting one - any mistake could cost a team their place in the next stage. The battle for the playoffs went the way of Virtus.pro, Newbee and Team Secret, while in the elimination matches, NAVI, OG and Team Liquid made it. The teams with 2-2 score were scheduled for more games, and unfortunately, NAVI lost to TNC Pro Team, while OG and compLexity let Team Liquid and OpTic Gaming into the playoffs.

Playoffs
The final stage of the tournament featured bo3 series. Team Secret and Evil Geniuses lost all the way in the quarterfinals - Newbee and Team Liquid were victorious this time. Nonetheless, the series were exciting and far from one-sided - for example, in the second game, EG managed to win with 27:0 score, but Team Liquid pulled themselves back together, notably playing Dark Willow twice,
VGJ.Thunder kept on marching towards the grand-finals. They beat TNC Pro Team, and Newbee after that. The CIS representative, team Virtus.pro dealt with the opponents very well - both OpTIc Gaming and the champions of The International 2017 fell short. Neither the signature Invoker and Lycan, nor a surprise Huskar helped Team Liquid. The deciding fight was under the control of the "bears" for the whole time - 3:0.
