7tor and Putrick's Journey in NAVI

NAVI esports club has announced the closure of its Fortnite roster. Here's a look back at the major achievements of our players under the yellow-black banner.

First achievements

First, NAVIFortnite welcomed Daniil "Putrick" Abdrakhmanov, whose persistence and talent could not go unnoticed. Within days Putrick had his first success in the daily Trios Cup - he and his teammates made it to the top 3 four times and eventually won in one of the draws.

Such a good start prompted NAVI to start looking at other players. Soon another strong player, Igor "7tor" Popov, joined the club. The boys were looking forward to the main tournament of the season - Solo FNCS.

To play in the finals, players had to overcome qualifying rounds that lasted several weeks. Players could take part in them even if they had already received a ticket to the final stage of the competition. So, 7tor was the only player in the CIS who successfully overcame all of the open qualifiers in his region. But the final of the tournament was difficult - 43rd place and $ 2,000 in prize winnings.

On September 16, the new season began, EPIC Games announced the schedule of tournaments. Our guys took turns taking good places in the weekly championships, and in October, they found success in FSL BEYOND TRIO CIS. First place went to the Putrick's team and third place went to the 7tor's trio. The teams were rewarded with 25,000 and 10,000 rubles, respectively.

A few days after FSL, our players once again went to conquer the new major tournaments of the season - Trio FNCS and DreamHack Open November 2020. Both teams easily overcame the qualifying stages of the championships, and in the finals of FNCS, Daniil's trio had a real battle. Perseverance paid off - the guys earned $ 16,500 for their 9th place.

In November, the performance statistics were released: 7tor and Putrick were the CIS leaders in total prize money for the last two seasons of Trio tournaments. Between them, the guys made $ 23,509, which was $ 5,434 more than Jamside, Siberiajkee and Kiryache32, who played for Virtus.pro at the time.

The final tournaments of the year were DreamHack Open 2020 December (6th place and $ 5,800 for Putrick's team), Frosty Frenzy (over $ 3,000 for two players) and EU Encore ($ 3,000 for two players). A new year and more battles ahead!

Results in 2021

At the end of January, 7tor took 24th place at the DreamHack Online Open, but then things went downhill for both of our players. Igor and Daniil weren't able to compete in the finals of the March FNCS, and the results in the weekly tournaments slightly declined. There was a lot of time left until the next FNCS season, the guys spent it in long individual training sessions. And for good reason!

7tor's team made it to the finals of the DreamHack Open in May and took 43rd place($ 500). And in the finals of FNCS S16 the fans were rooting for Putrick's team: together with his teammates, Daniil managed to get 24th place and get $ 6,000. But after the season ended, the club's management decided to close the Fortnite division due to the unstable competitive scene, bad coverage of the tournaments in the CIS, and the lack of information about the Fortnite World Cup.
