Mellman — on the latest NAVI results, popular TV shows and games

In an interview with ru NAVI PUBG player ge Konstantin "Mellman" Levkin, we discussed the team's results at PCS5 and PSL Elisa Esports Winter Challenge, and talked about The International 10, The Squid Game, and Genshin Impact.

Hi! On October 11, you finished the fifth stage of the PSL in second place and reached the upper bracket. But you were unlucky in five out of six matches. What hindered you from showing a stronger game?

I wouldn't say we weren't lucky, we just played an aggressive playstyle, and that's where the failures happen quite often. It was also affected by the fact that we had not practiced a week before, as we were returning from a bootcamp. And almost immediately, we had to deal with the process of obtaining the visa required for the PGC.

It was the victory on the 6th map that put you in the upper bracket. What did you change in your game after the five bad maps? What helped you win?
geKonstantin "Mellman" Levkin

We just handled all the fights, properly adjusted to the procs and cleaned up the sides that were in our way.

There are breaks of a few days between PSL stages. Does the team try to rest during this time or continues to practice?
geKonstantin "Mellman" Levkin

Yes, we will train most of all individually. And we'll also keep an eye on the cybersport holiday - The International.

Let's go back for a while to the last PCS5, where you took 5th place. Can you rate your overall performance from 1 to 10?
geKonstantin "Mellman" Levkin

I would rate our performance probably a seven.

What mistakes did you make during the PCS? What stopped you from taking a higher placement?
geKonstantin "Mellman" Levkin

We were not strong in the late game, and sometimes we were in a hurry at crucial moments.

What is ua ALREIN's current role? Does he only help in the game aspects or in the mental side of the things as well?
geKonstantin "Mellman" Levkin

Now he analyzes the opponents, monitors the discipline and helps mentally prepare for the game.

Are there any jitters before going to PGC 2021? How mentally prepared are you for this difficult trip in every regard?
geKonstantin "Mellman" Levkin

I do not have any anxiety. We will have quite a lot of time to adapt to the conditions while we are in quarantine. Personally, I want to enjoy this trip!

Have you been to Korea before? What are you planning to take back with you as a memento?
geKonstantin "Mellman" Levkin

I have not been to Korea, so I have no idea what I can bring from there.

At PGC, they are featuring the SUPER system. Is that good or bad and why?
geKonstantin "Mellman" Levkin

Good. This format is mentally easier, it does not put pressure on you.

Let's get back to the present. Now there will be Taego and Paramo instead of Vikendi and Sanhok in ranked mode. How did you react to this news?
geKonstantin "Mellman" Levkin

I think diversity is always a good thing. I enjoy new emotions from the game.

Does PUBG Corp. generally listens to the players? Are the latest updates to the game going well within the community?
geKonstantin "Mellman" Levkin

Yes, it seems to me that almost every patch is better than the previous one. There are exceptions, but on the whole the flow is positive. But, of course, I would like to see something on a larger scale.

An important question: What did you think of the sensational series "Squid Game"?
geKonstantin "Mellman" Levkin

The plot is almost entirely copied from the anime "Kaiji". So who is interested - I advise you to watch, but the visual part is specific :)

The show as a whole did not evoke emotions, not enough empathy for the main characters. 6/10.

The sequel to The Witcher is coming out in December. Will you watch it?
geKonstantin "Mellman" Levkin

I like "The Witcher" much better than the show above. I'm waiting.

What about The International 10 or the upcoming CS:GO Major? Do you have time to follow those big tournaments? Are you rooting for anyone at TI10?
geKonstantin "Mellman" Levkin

TI10 I watch almost every match, it's a cyber sport festival after all. I root for eu OG, simply because I like their team and the atmosphere in it. I think they are the best example of a team in all of cybersport.

And lastly: your top Genshin Impact heroes?
geKonstantin "Mellman" Levkin

Ooh, I haven't played Genshin in two months, but I always liked Ke Qing, Ningguang, Diluk and Xiao.

On October 18, ru NAVI will continue their journey at the PSL Elisa Esports Winter Challenge. They will play in the upper bracket of the sixth round and compete for an advance to the grand final of the tournament. #ObsessedWe
