Alexey "Solo" Berezin comments on the results

2021 was not a glorious year for NAVI Dota 2. Shuffling within the roster, disappointing performances in the last season and a missed out participation at The International 10. Nevertheless, our team enters 2022 with confidence in their abilities and the desire to achieve excellent results. Let’s have a look at the main points our team was facing in the past year.

NAVI felt confident at the beginning since the squad had previously won the fourth season of the (for Europe and CIS). A serious achievement, especially since the guys beat OG 3:0 in the final.

2021 kicked off with the first season of and our team started in the top division. In general, the result of the tournament is worth pointing out. NAVI took second place and at the Major Championship, which was supposed to be held in Singapore. However, after that, things didn’t keep on working out for the Born to Win.

It appeared that NAVI would play the tournament with because Iceberg and ALWAYSWANNAFLY caught coronavirus. On top of that, Mag, who was supposed to fill a spot, also got infected. In the end, NAVI management had to make the inevitable decision .

For the second season of , our team made . GeneRaL's spot was taken by RAMZES666, who was previously supposed to be a stand-in at the ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021. The reshuffle did not help NAVI, the team almost got relegated and ended up in sixth place.

Having failed to earn a ticket to during the season, our team had to overcome the qualifying stage of the championship. For the qualifiers, : No[o]ne- and SoNeikO were invited to replace Iceberg and ALWAYSWANNAFLY.

NAVI couldn’t live up to its own expectations and managed to win only the first match versus EXTREMUM in the Double Elimination bracket. Then they were defeated twice by HellRaisers and Team Empire with the same score of 1:2 and therefore finished their performance at The International 10 qualifiers.

As a result of unsatisfying performances, the team was put . In September was formed: V-Tune, No[o]ne-, GeneRaL, ALOHADANCE, Solo. Further, ArtStyle became the general manager and part-time coach.

The first official matches were played only a few months later, in the first round of . At the championship, NAVI won twice and lost once. In addition, the team did not perform well in the fifth season of for participants from Europe and the CIS.

How would you rate the team's performance in the three games at Dota Pro Circuit 2021/22? What didn't work out against PuckChamp?
Alexey Solo Berezin
I I

If we talk about the result in the DPC table, the performance is satisfying. In terms of the game, of course, there were many mistakes, we are left with a lot to work before the next matches.

PuckChamp are great, they had a decent start into the season, but we made huge mistakes in the match against them at Roshan. That’s why we lost on the first as well as the second map.

What can you say about the OGA Dota PIT match? Why didn't you manage to defeat OG and Tundra?
Alexey Solo Berezin

At Dota PIT, many things went against our favour. Besides that, both OG and Tundra Esports turned out to be strong teams. Nevertheless, we were quite capable to beat both of them with proper drafts and actions on the map.

I can say that the beginning of the season was difficult for our team. We have been dealing with a lot of internal disputes and disagreements from the beginning until now. We had trouble finding a consensus on our views on the game, but I think that we are on the right track and will become much stronger once we solve these issues.

What is the team's minimum goal for 2022?

Our minimum task is to reach The International 11, where we will need to play our best :)

The team is facing 2022 with work ahead and just as importantly, with a great desire to win. Let's support NAVI players, who will give their best to please the fans with good games and impressive results! #ObsessedWe
