Valerii «b1t» Vakhovskyi ranked ninth in HLTV.org’s 2021 Players of the Year. Here is an interview with the NAVI player for HLTV.org.

— How and when did you first discover Counter-Strike? What was it about the game that drew you in?

I was little when I saw my uncle play it. Got attracted by the gameplay.

— When did you first begin to aim to play professionally? Your earliest recorded matches on HLTV are with NOTBAD in the StarLadder Minor, and only a few months later you joined NAVI Junior. What inspired you to apply to the team at that time?

I didn't set such a goal, I just wanted to play well. I was playing faceit with friends and someone dropped the application link, and somehow it ended up with me applying through it.

— What support did NAVI Junior provide to help you develop? How much did B1ad3 contribute during that period?

I got in the right hands, so new perspectives opened up for me, because I started to play a lot, stopped going to college and of course I gained team experience. At that moment there was also Amiran, who definitely left a mark, for which I am grateful to him. Andrey had other responsibilities at that time.
