Denis "electronic" Sharipov was ranked seventh in HLTV.org's 2021 rankings. Here we present you the NAVI player interview by the HLTV journalists.

— Early in the year you struggled against Gambit, and obviously they were your main rival throughout the rest of 2021 as well. Can you tell me about the matchup? What was special about them that they were able to constantly challenge you, even after they dropped off?

We had met them too many times, so at a certain point we had to come up with new things, more than ever. I think they were playing well individually; they prepare well.

— Although you didn't have a particularly bad period at any point in the year, for your standards the beginning of 2021 was far from your best level. Was there any particular reason behind that? What did you think of how you were playing in the first few tournaments and did you do anything special to get back into your usual form?

At that moment, we were trying new things out, positions on maps. I think I needed some time to fully adjust to those new things.

— What do you think has been the main cause of the team's improvement towards the middle of the year? What is different about the NAVI that became so dominant in the second part of the season?

Denis “electronic” Sharipov

I think we lacked some fresh energy, which is something that Valera [b1t] brought in. We started working even more to achieve our goals.
