HCS 2023: NAVI Europe Open Series 3 runner-up

The third European Open Series tournament of the professional HCS 2023 season was held on April 2. Team NAVI demonstrated a worthy performance, finishing one step away from the championship title.

The main innovation of the competition was a change in the format. Six slots were given to the top teams according to the number of rating points, and two more slots were drawn as part of the qualifications. The tournament consisted of a Pool Play stage and a Double Elimination bracket.

The Pool Play stage wasn't the hardest for our team. NAVI defeated Dopamine and JLINGZ esportsandearned a technical victory over Exyl_CSG. However, in the playoffs, the first game was tough as Aw0babobs put up a good fight, although they lost 2 : 3.

The upper bracket final was a failure. Our team faced Quadrant and lost 0 : 3, dropping to the bottom of the bracket, where they didn't leave much chance for Dopamine — 3 : 0 and reached the Grand Final.

For the final victory, the boys had to win two series. NAVI players showed their confidence in the first series, beating Quadrant 4 : 2. However, unfortunately, the fatigue affected the team: the guys lost 0 : 4 in another series.

As a result, NAVI took second place in the championship, earning $375 and 2,400 rating points. The fourth European Open will be held on April 30. Stay tuned!
