VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo: Tournament details and first opponent
NAVI will play in the VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo- the largest tournament in the history of the VALORANT Championship Tour. Today, Riot Games announced the official details of the event: 32 of the best teams in the world will compete from February 13th to March 4th in Sao Paulo, at the Ginásio do Ibirapuera arena.

Teams
Teams from three leagues: Americas, Pacific, and EMEA, as well as two invited teams from China, will participate in the LOCK//IN tournament. Among the EMEA teams, apart from NAVI, there are also BBL Esports, Team Liquid, and Team Vitality.

Tournament format
The tournament will be held in the single elimination format. In order to make it possible for as many inter-regional matches as possible to be played, a random draw process was implemented. The regions were divided into 16 first round match-ups, with each match-up having two team slots.
- • EMEA vs PACIFIC - 5 match-ups
- • AMERICAS vs PACIFIC - 5 match-ups
- • AMERICAS vs EMEA - 4 match-ups
- • CHINA vs AMERICAS - 1 match-up
- • CHINA vs EMEA - 1 match-up
Each team slot was assigned a random number from 1-10 to account for all the 32 teams.
(Americas 1-10, Pacific 1-10, EMEA 1-10, China 1-2). Teams from China were set to play with a team from the Americas and EMEA.
Then, the 16 match-ups were distributed across the two sides of the single-elimination bracket, so that as many inter-regional matches as possible are played. Thus, the teams were divided into Alpha and Omega groups to get the following match-ups:

After that, all 32 teams from both Alpha and Omega were randomly assigned a number from 1-10 that corresponded to their region. Thus, the final bracket looks like this.
Our first opponent will be KRÜ Esports. The match will take place on February 22 at 21:00.
Schedule
LOCK//IN will consist of three stages:
Alpha Matches: February 13-19
- • Teams will compete until 2 teams remain
- • Each match will be a Bo3
Omega Matches: February 22-27
- • Teams will compete until 2 teams remain
- • Each match will be a Bo3
Finals Stage
- • The remaining 4 teams will play in the Semifinals and FInals
- • Each match at this stage will be a Bo5
