Soon ua NAVI.GG.BET will start their performance at ESL Pro League S8 Finals, but for now, we are offering you an interview with ua Danylo “Zeus” Teslenko. In the conversation, ua Zeus evaluated the team’s performance of autumn LAN tournaments, noted the difference between the young players of CS 1.6 and CS:GO, and also evaluated the performance of dk gla1ve.

Hi! How do you rate the success of the bootcamp? What do you focus on in the first place?

— Bootcamp went well. First of all, we focused on our weakest maps. Also, at the start of the bootcamp, the goal was not to work on the individual plays, but to focus more on tactical preparation.

This time you moved to a new place again to prepare for the championships. Did you like the current base? Maybe something pleasantly surprised you or, conversely, disappointed?

— Yes, we have moved. I am liking everything. Very cool area, cool place, hotel, service. Everything is great!

Since our last conversation, the team has visited three LAN-tournaments, where you took second place, won in another one and dropped out from the tournament during the groups, respectively. In general, how would you rate the performance of the team during this period?

— Adequate performance, four out of five. I consider the second and first place to be a good result, and the early departure during groups, of course, is unpleasant, but again, this is simply an incorrect distribution of strength and capabilities in tournaments. Should have declined one of the championships. Rapidly flying to three tournaments and especially over long distances — is just wrong. Nevertheless, everything comes with time and we learn from our own mistakes.

What difference do you see between the younger players of the current generation and the times of CS 1.6?

— The main difference is that if a young player shows himself well, then he can receive a salary of $ 500—1000 per month. In CS 1.6, such salaries were for the best players in the world. As such, the players, who were young and were decent, they mostly played for the idea. Everyone understood that you need to be the best in the world or enter at least the top ten to earn that kind of money. Now it’s enough to be in the top 50 to get a decent salary. I can’t say whether it’s good or bad, just noting the difference that exists between the young players of the CS 1.6 and CS:GO era.

In 2018, NAVI has two tournaments to attend — ESL Pro League S8 and BLAST Pro Series Lisbon. How did you set your priorities?

— The priority, of course, is the ESL Pro League, because this is a larger tournament with a big prize pool. However, BLAST is also a prestigious tournament, besides we won the last one, so we will be defending the champions title.

The progress and the game of which player and team surprised you the most in the past year? After the release of CS:GO, we saw the emergence of three great teams that dominated the rest for a long time: fnatic, Luminosity / SK and now Astralis. Which of these teams impressed you the most?

— From young teams in the CIS — kz AVANGAR. I believe that this year they made a very serious breakthrough. They have a really good opportunity to move on and become a tier-1-team. Actually, they nearly are such team at the present time.

Obviously, dk Astralis this year is simply superb! That is indisputable. Which player surprised me and is admirable? To be honest, I’m very impressed with dk gla1ve, in which I see myself somewhere when I was 23-24 years old. I see that he perfectly feels the game, leads the team and at the same time, he is playing outstanding. Believe me, at the age of thirty this is much more difficult to do, and I am pleased that I manage to somehow move forward at my age and continue to play at a professional level.

Thank you for the interview, good luck in the next competition! Any final words, perhaps some wishes for the fans?

— The team is trying and practicing. We sincerely trying to show the results and win. If something does not work out, then it's just how the circumstances are laid out. We are not robots, so be with us and believe in us! I know that most of you are exactly that kind of fans. And I know that we have pleased you this year — we won four tournaments and took three second places. And all this time you were with us guys. Thank you so much for such support! Cheer for us and believe in us. Two tournaments ahead, so hopefully everything will be fine!
