NAVI renews Wild Rift roster
On March 12, NAVI the Wild Rift roster of 5 Chinese players, who previously played in the mix of Team Ghost. During their time in NAVI, players became one of the strongest in the region: they regularly made it to the top 3 of various championships, and at the last major tournament Battle For the Rift without losing a single game.
Nevertheless, the mobile esports scene of the League of Legends is just beginning to shape up. And the current number of championships may not be enough to retain the players.
That’s what happened with the NAVI Wild Rift roster: mid player SkyFL made a difficult decision to return back to China based on family reasons, and Mumu decided to take a break from esport. As a result, we were faced with a choice: to add new players to the existing roster or assemble a new one. Unfortunately, there are not many players who speak chinese in the European professional Wild Rift scene and in many cases the language barrier can be a serious problem for the team.
This led us to make a decision in favor of signing up a new Wild Rift team from CIS to further promote and develope the discipline in our home region. Three of them previously played for Mortal Shot, and took 2nd place at the Moscow Cybersport Series 2021 Major tournament in June. In the final they lost 2 : 3 and earned ₽25,000. TREY and Pestt have also been playing professionally in a variety of line-ups for a long time now.
Starting this month, Riot Games will officially host tournaments. We are sure that the guys will play confidently and delight the NAVI fans! #navination
