Esports World Cup 2024: StarCraft II tournament details

Following the Teamfight Tactics competition, where our team went all the way to the playoffs and earned 60 rating points, the baton gets passed to NAVI StarCraft II player Piotr «Spirit» Walukiewicz.

The largest tournament in the history of the discipline will be held in Riyadh from August 14 to 18. Eighteen players will compete for a $1,000,000 prize pool.

Tournament format:

Esports World Cup 2024 comprises three stages: a group stage, a knockout stage, and playoffs, which only include four of the tournament's best players.

Group stage will feature 16 participants divided into two equal groups. The winners of each bracket will advance to the playoffs, while the second places will fight each other for the coveted slot. All matches are best-of-5.

Knockout stage will include all players eliminated from the group stage. The last playoff slot will go to the winner of the Single Elimination bracket. All matches are best-of-3, except for the best-of-5 final.

Playoffs will see the four best tournament participants compete over a $710,000 prize pool and EWC rating points.

Draw results:

As a result of the draw, Spirit is in Group A and will face Maru from Team Vitality in the first match. The battle will take place on August 14 at 12:00 CET. Over the course of their careers, the players have only met once, with the South Korean Terran taking the victory. We believe Spirit will finally get to take revenge this time around.

Prize pool distribution:

In addition to the $1,000,000 prize pool, the players will also fight for EWC rating points. NAVI currently sit fifth overall, with only 110 points separating us from fourth place.
