EWC 2026 Fatal Fury: first group stage for DarkAngel
Today marks the start of the long-awaited Esports World Cup 2026 festival for NAVI fans. Our Fatal Fury player DarkAngel will be the first to step onto the stage.
At the tournament, 32 of the world’s best players will compete for a $ 1 000 000 prize pool, as well as 3 350 EWC Club Points.
Last year, DarkAngel finished in the top 3. We hope that this time he will be able not only to repeat his success, but also improve on that result.
Tournament format
Esports World Cup 2026 will be held in three stages: two Double Elimination group stages with First to 3 matches, as well as a Single Elimination playoff bracket (First to 5).
The first group stage matches will take place today, starting at 15:50.
DarkAngel was placed in Group CC
Out of eight players, the top four will advance to the second group stage. Our fighter’s opponent in the first round will be Pida. The Czech player competes without a team and has no major achievements on the international stage so far. He qualified for EWC through the Last Chance Qualifier, where he finished fourth.
Among the most dangerous contenders for a playoff spot, KojiKOG and Nemo stand out after finishing 13th–16th at EWC 2025, as does ZJZ, who placed top 9–12 last year, and mok — a former top-4 at the tournament. However, mok is in the other half of the bracket.
Notably, DarkAngel defeated him in the third-place match at EWC 2025.
