DarkAngel is the DreamHack Birmingham 2026 runner-up!

Fatal Fury / Coverage / 29 March 2026 — 17:00

The Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves tournament at DreamHack Birmingham 2026 has concluded. NAVI player Luis Guadalupe "DarkAngel" Castillo Gomez showcased a high level of play and secured second place in the competition.

A key feature of the tournament was the distribution of 4 slots for the Esports World Cup 2026. Since DarkAngel had already secured his spot earlier, he focused his efforts on earning the ranking points needed to qualify for the SNK World Championship 2026.

His tournament run was intense: DarkAngel advanced as a group leader in the first stage. However, he fell to the lower bracket after a tight loss to mi2ha4 (1-2) in the upper bracket qualifier, where he then fought hard to defeat Lokof (2-1).

During the playoffs, DarkAngel went on an impressive streak, defeating POONGKO (3-1), Dany "El Maza" (3-0), Basher (3-2), and GO1 (3-2) to reach the Grand Final. Unfortunately, he was unable to overcome ZJZ in the final match (0-3).

He finishes the tournament in second place, taking home $8,500 and 1,000 ranking points. We are confident that DarkAngel will return even stronger in future tournaments and delight our fans with more spectacular performances!
