IEM Sydney 2023: vs. FaZe

After the first day of IEM Sydney 2023, NAVI are one step away from elimination. The decisive match against FaZe will start tomorrow at 10:30 and will be played in the best-of-3 format.

Today our team played two matches, the first of which we managed to win. In the battle against Apeks, the team opened the score of their victories on Mirage (13 : 9). jL was especially outstanding: the Latvian scored 2.5 in the rating 2.0 against his former team.

In the first best-of-3 match in CS2 NAVI had a chance to avenge MOUZ for the defeat at the ESL Pro League S18, but lost on the third map (1 : 2). It is worth noting that despite the defeat on our map the team defeated the opponent on Inferno (13 : 4). On this map b1t definitely stood out: the NAVI's "foster child" played the best map of his career with a rating of 2.62.

FaZe's results in this tournament were hard to predict. In the opening match, the team lost to GamerLegion in extra rounds (15 : 19 Nuke), and then, even more unexpectedly, knocked out the current best team in the world - Vitality (2 : 1).

Recall that at IEM Sydney 2023 the NAVI CS team are playing with roster changes: the place of Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev is taken by coach Andrii "B1ad3" Gorodenskyi.
