EPL S17: Semifinals vs Faze

In the quarterfinals, NAVI faced their strongest opponent in the tournament. After the success of last year, Heroic is ranked second in the HLTV ranking, after finishing IEM Katowice 2023 as runners-up. The confrontation started with a risky choice by our team – Anubis. The Danes didn't have any official game on this map, which may have made it difficult to prepare. The game was close with a score of 15 : 13, until Heroic made a mistake leading up to the first map win for NAVI. On the second map, Born to Win managed to win 8 : 7 for the counter-terrorists on Inferno, followed by an extremely strong performance in the second half (16 : 8).

Faze's journey to this stage was much easier. The team did well in Group C, finishing second due to a loss to Vitality (0 : 2). In the second round of the playoffs they beat Furia (2 : 0), who still can't top their results from last year. Only the quarterfinals against the underdogs from forze didn't go smoothly: a tight fight in the first two maps (13 : 16 Inferno, 16 : 14 Overpass) and a crushing defeat of the last Mirage (16 : 6).

The last time the teams met was during the IEM Cologne 2022 final. In the bo5 battle, Faze prevailed (2 : 3).
