Chess / Coverage / 30 July 2025 — 21:35

Grandmaster Nodirbek Abdusattorov, representing NAVI at the Esports World Cup 2025, has advanced to the tournament playoffs! In the decisive match, he defeated Twisted Minds player Jan-Krzysztof Duda 2 : 1.

Congratulations to Nodirbek on this fantastic result: he has already secured at least 200 EWC points for our club and will continue the fight for the grand chess prize of $250,000 tomorrow. The tournament's final stage will follow a Single Elimination format, with four games played in the quarterfinals.

Nodirbek began his run in Group D — one of the toughest at the tournament — with a loss to Magnus Carlsen (Team Liquid), 1.5 : 0.5. Dropping to the lower bracket, with no room for error, he went on to defeat Fabiano Caruana (Team Liquid) 2 : 1 and then Jan-Krzysztof Duda.

The playoff draw will take place later. Stay tuned for updates!
